Facebook will finally make easier to get rid of its biggest problem: the notifications. The company seems to examine the possibility of adding a new feature that will let its users disable the notifications.
The feature, which was spotted by the consultant of digital media Matt Navarra, adds the “Do not disturb” button, which is basically used to either enable or disable notifications.
Mr. Navarra reports that the social network is analysing the time limits for the “Do not disturb” feature, so that users could disable notification for a set time period.
It is unknown how long will the tests take place or if Facebook is planning on launching the feature for all of the users. The company usually tests the new features in small groups of people and in some cases does not make them available to everyone.
The addition of the “Do not disturb” feature will follow the company’s recent moves for the users to spend more quality time on the app. Besides, over the past years, Facebook has been criticized for its very aggressive notification system that constantly distracts the user’s attention to lure them back to the app.
