In the light of publicity another scandal has arisen concerning the leakage of personal data where Facebook is yet again involved. Inti De Ceukelaire found a bug on the platform that published personal data from more than 120 million users!

More specifically, the application quiz from NameTests.com seems like gathering personal user information on the social network, when they were taking part on a quiz. Personal data collected includes name, surname, date of birth, profile photos, posts, friends list, and everything else they might have shared in their profile. Then the application stored the above data on a document JavaScript, which was easily accessible from the website for anyone to observe.

NameTests.com has now repaired the security gap and Facebook recognized De Ceukelaire’s effort by compensating him for $4000, an amount that was doubled when Facebook learned that he will raise the money to charity.
