One of Ubisoft’s most important moments in E3 2018 was of course the presentation of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, the new episode of the popular gaming series that for the first time ever is diving back to ancient Greece, while the gameplay is very different with many RPG elements.
The story is set in Ancient Greece, 431 b.c., during the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. Players could choose to follow either Alexios or Kassandra, both of whom are descendants of the Spartan King Leonidas. Even though the character choice does not affect the storyline, you will however, have different customization options.
Also, Ubisoft has added some special abilities that you could develop during combat, such as an extremely powerful kick or shooting many arrows at once. Additionally, naval combat, that we first saw in Black Flag, is coming back to the series, and the player can now build his/her own ship.
It is worth mentioning that every decision has a direct impact on the storyline, something that we only see in the best RPG games. Therefore, you need to carefully plan your dialogues and actions, as they affect the game’s ending.
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey will be released on October the 5th for Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
