Almost 5 years have gone by since Google bought the application Waze and it is a fact that it remains really popular due to one really specific service, the ability of incident reports upon the maps live, for everything that happens on the roads (traffic, accidents, constructions, natural disasters). After such a long time, the company seems to be ready to add a similar feature in the popular application Google Maps!
Already some users mention that the service of ‘’Incident Reports’’ appeared into Google Maps, something that was discovered in the code of the document APK a few weeks ago. Without a formal announcement, Google is probably putting to the test the new feature by adding it to specific groups of users giving them the ability to address incidents in real life, so that other users can observe and be able to arrange their course accordingly.
Although Incident Reports are the basic function of Waze, the adaption onto Google Maps is particularly welcomed, considering that the service combines multiple features that consider the traffic in real time, as well as instructions for public transportation, pedestrians and cyclists. On the other hand, Waze is mainly focused on drivers.
We expect a formal announcement from Google in the near feature.
